Referendum 2018 - Vote May 8District 197 will hold a special election on May 8. There will be one question on the ballot—a request for approval to issue building bonds for school additions, renovations and repairs. At Garlough, proposed changes include renovating the cafeteria’s kitchen, rightsizing kindergarten classrooms to ensure they meet the state’s recommended guidelines, improving handicapped accessibility, adding a conference room, reconfiguring the parking lot for safety, completing deferred maintenance work (concrete sidewalks, roofing, tuck pointing, gym equipment, plumbing, lighting, etc.) and more. Voting - In-Person, Early Voting for the Referendum is Now Open
All residents of District 197 who will be 18 years of age on Election Day and are eligible to vote can vote early through May 7. In Minnesota, you no longer need a reason to vote by mail or in person before an election.
